I know it is just some bluster, but frankly if Red Bull wants to pull of F1, that's fine by me.
It was a fucking snoozefest under the Red Bull parade anyway...

The worry would be losing stability in F1 if they do pull out

Its not like F1 is very stable anyway. Half the teams can't afford to be there and are usually on the verge of dropping out. Costs are too high, tech is not in line with road cars, and the business case for those who actually have money (manufacturers) to be involved is minimal at best. Outside of historically connected marques, I doubt you will see anyone jumping in to fill the gaps if things start to fall apart.

That means old man Bernie would have to leave later on!

Cost cap is coming next year, there are teams waiting in the wings, and this new hybrid tech is the future of road cars.

It would just look bad for Red Bull though, like they were sore losers. First signs of trouble, and they pull out of the sport. What a bunch of whiners they would be.

Cost cap = often spoken of never implemented...
Teams in the wings = none of which are manufacturers (cept for Honda providing engines)
Hybrid tech = sort of....hybrid technology and energy recovery existed and were mass produced before F1 decided to follow the lead of consumers and start to integrate for marketing appeal. And the future of road cars is going to probably lie with Tesla more than Ferrari; even the switch to V6s is lagging the main consumer market by about 5 years (which is now shifting to I4s). Frankly the 3 manufacturers in F1 (and the Williams influence with NISMO and the next GT-R) won't likely produce anything that justifies their investment in the sport. Endurance racing is a better option.
F1 has always been a pageant, and that is ok...it just means I don't mind if Red Bull takes a leap off a short pier :-)

It reminds me of all the times Ferrari did this...but you knew they would never pull out.
